Improved delivery of serviced land to the housing market

The objective of the studio is to improve access to affordable housing, to all income groups in the city of Vadodara. As a part of the Stage 3: Formulating a city wide sub-strategy, this section deals with Improved delivery of serviced land to the housing market. It is an Enabling sub-strategy that is applicable to the entire housing spectrum. Various land-based fiscal tools like Town Planning (TP) Schemes can generate profit and open the land to public domain for development. Ensuring the supply of serviced land is one of the housing challenges. Proper planning and organization are needed for the effective supply of services. Most distortions happen in the supply side in developing countries. Through interventions in the land delivery mechanisms, supply of and access to serviced land to the market and opening up of the locked land to the market can be improved.
