There is a global paradigmatic shift in prioritizing reducing greenhouse gas emissions over reducing electricity consumption. This has led to the development of a net zero carbon approach towards projects. The scope of the study is about the contribution and impact of the building sector in terms of environmental impacts, with the focal point being the residential building sector, particularly for affordable housing. A Life Cycle Analysis was carried out for the study to understand the project's environmental impact broadly divided into the embodied and operational impacts. This impact has been quantified as kilograms of CO2 released into the atmosphere. ISO 14040/44 has been used as a reference for this assessment.
