The study concludes the percentage of energy savings achieved with each unit increase in cooling setpoint temperature for the cities of Ahmedabad, Chennai, Delhi, and Bengaluru by the employment of the two methodologies and understanding differences in laboratory testing and simulation data. In stage 1, the energy consumption is determined through experimental evaluation using split air conditioners. The experiment is conducted at various setpoint temperatures in a low-energy cooling testing bed (LECTB) lab in Ahmedabad to determine energy consumption for 10-day profiles. In stage 2, simulation methodology is employed to estimate energy consumption at different setpoints.
