Fire protection in heritage structure is a complex task that requires a careful and strategic approach. The design of fire protection systems for heritage structures involves a comprehensive understanding of the structures historical and architectural significance, as well as it’s structural and fire related risk. Assessment of services requirement for given projects is based on building programme, purpose, functions, geographical location, site characteristics, etc. based on code of design and determination of fire hazard.  The design process must balance the preservation of the heritage structure with the need to provide adequate fire protection to minimize the risk of damage. The importance of stakeholder engagement and collaboration between fire protection specialist and heritage preservation professionals is also discussed. Ultimately, the goal of designing fire protection system for heritage structures is to preserve the integrity and value of these unique and irreplaceable cultural assets.
