Assessment of Rooftop Photovoltaic Potential

The study aims to encourage Rajkot city to use rooftop photovoltaic energy and decrease the use of conventional energy and by which reduce the carbon footprint left by the city. Various Geospatial methods were used for it. with three parameters - Land Surface Temperature, Global Horizontal Irradiance, and Electricity Consumption - analyzed through Multiple Criteria Decision-Making Analysis. Buildings with photovoltaic potential are identified through 3D models and shaded regions were removed. The results indicate that most buildings in the city can generate solar energy, suggesting a significant opportunity for sustainable energy use and reduced dependence on traditional sources.
