Analyse and Interprete

CFP003

The main focus of this component is to enable a student to observe and read information and make meaning out of it. They interpret data to create something that is valuable within a set of constraints or conditions. From field-based exercises, like understanding and representing a narrative of aspects of an unfamiliar city, to learning the basic idea of ergonomics to gauge sizes, the exercises provide a variety of types of engagement. The students are introduced to the principles of organization and composition. They develop the skills to interpret symbols, graphics, and color as constituents of a style or type. They also acquire a basic acquaintance with building elements and materials. Mapping and data representation function as a means to introduce data collection to understand a cultural space, but also to express visually the quality of analysis.
