Cage of Echoes

The project explores three program conditions: Prison, Hideout/Bunker, and Retreat, focusing on emotional and physical expressions of the user and designer. Light is integral, serving both emotional and material functions to shape surface, form, and matter, creating experiential atmospheres. Charcoal sketches illustrate spatial imaginations, emphasizing formations, light articulation, and behavior, avoiding symbolic representation. A strategy diagram defines spatial compositions within the site or cube. The narrative reflects a personal journey—despite a life of material comfort, recurring injustices in a familiar space led to emotional frustration and hurt. Taking a stand for justice resulted in confinement, mirroring the prison concept.
