Breathing Carapace

The rotting swamps of Veedh are inhabited by Rakshasis, with intricately bioengineered floating modules on its tannin rich toxic water. Buoyancy is utilised in order to avoid the extreme quicksand like soil conditions, and is maximised by the upward gas motion created. The settlement makes use of fibrous translucent shells, providing simultaneous protection, and a oneness with the context, hence aligning with the mindset of its inhabitants. A living heart, this settlement filters air, and its funnels open up to overhead light as well as facilitate air circulation, and it reflects the species highly adaptable phenotype.
