Cultural Cascades

The project reshapes isolated cultural landmarks, religious spaces, and park elements into a cohesive, flowing landscape that links JH Road (Gandhinagar) to the Sant Sarovar Dam. Nestled between Sarita Udyan and Indroda National Park, the site includes dilapidated heritage structures and underutilized areas, which are revitalized to form generous community spaces. The design offers a smooth transition from bustling social hubs to tranquil nature zones, seamlessly blending built and natural environments. By connecting fragmented elements and breathing new life into neglected spaces, the park fosters deeper ties to the landscape, creating a shared, multi-functional space for the community to engage with nature, heritage, and local traditions. This transformation enriches both the cultural and ecological fabric of the region.

Introduction | Site Location

Due to the fragmented nature of the site, the site seeks to craft a holistic experience by seamlessly integrating its historical, ecological, cultural, and infrastructural features. It also aims to map and respond to various on-site activities, such as cattle grazing, visits by outsiders, sand mining, religious waste disposal, and the presence of sacred landmarks and practices
