Dharitri Anveshnam - Exploration of Mother Earth

This studio provided a comprehensive understanding of geotechnical investigations and soil improvement, encompassing fieldwork, data analysis, and lab testing. Field investigations included Standard Penetration Tests (SPT), soil sampling, bore log documentation, soil stratigraphy analysis, and correcting SPT-N values. In the lab, tests for grain size distribution, specific gravity, Atterberg limits, and compaction properties were conducted to classify and evaluate soil behavior. Safe Bearing Capacity (SBC) and settlement were assessed for site suitability. The Deep Soil Mixing (DSM) method was applied, and improved soil mixes were tested to enhance SBC and settlement, equipping participants with practical geotechnical skills.
