Greening Geotechnics

The studio focused on Geotechnical Investigation, beginning with understanding its fundamentals through case studies. We then conducted lab tests to assess soil properties, including determining the Soil Bearing Capacity (SBC) and Settlement characteristics. After the midterm, the studio shifted to soil improvement techniques. We researched various admixtures, with my focus on Coconut Coir and fly ash emphasizing Sustainability. By analyzing different combinations of these materials, we explored their potential to enhance soil properties. This comprehensive approach integrated theory, hands-on testing, and practical application of soil improvement methods to address geotechnical challenges in real-world scenarios.
