This studio introduces students to advanced built environment research. Students will analyse built environments as gestures representing the social and cultural lives of people, while also addressing the various forces and paradigms that shaped our cities at particular moments in the past. Focusing on domestic environments in Ahmedabad, students will carry out extensive fieldwork for architectural documentation, mapping of everyday life, and oral history narratives for people's associations. This will be juxtaposed with existing literature and relevant archival material.
