Cemeteries are a traditional way of honoring the dead, but they also use a lot of land. As cities grow, the demand for cemetery space increases. This is a problem because only a limited amount of land is available. How often do people visit cemeteries? Once in a year? Thus, the space given for constructing cemeteries often goes to waste. Paris is home to people of many faiths, including Christians, Muslims, Jews, and Hindus. A multi-religion prayer space in Paris would be where people of all faiths could come together to pray, reflect, and learn about each other’s traditions. In the proposed project there is Praye Space in the existing building, a cafe along with the existing building and rest rooms for families, and a crematorium.
