Archaeology and Fossil Exhibition

This exhibition space houses preserves of dinosaur fossils and other articles of historical importance to the city of Ahmedabad. Stemming from the roots of Joao Luis’s Iberian museum for art and archeology, this building is a rendition of his unbuilt project in Portugal, relocated to Gandhinagar’s Indroda dinosaur park. Responding to the new context, the design of the building has been modified keeping in mind the principles and ideologies of Joao, detailing them out with an understanding of structure, materiality, site, space and so on. Each of these aspects have been worked on and detailed out through various lenses to then arrive at a tectonic expression that reflects an application of all the above concepts.
