This studio focused on the architectural design of suburban housing communities. The design exercise ocused on creating liveable residential neighbourhoods with a focus on the efficiency of design and construction technology, affordability, climate?-sensitive design, and appropriate landscape design strategies.
Through the studio, students explored housing types such as row houses, twin bungalows, independent bungalows, low-rise apartments.The design exercise explored the architectural questions of unit design, quality of common amenities, building material, architectural detailing, repetition, unique design, climate responses etc.
The project?s design involved preparing a detailed design of residential units, site layouts with street network strategies and design of shared amenities.
