Suburban Housing Design

This studio focuses on the architectural design of suburban housing communities. The design exercise will focus on creating liveable residential neighbourhoods with a focus on the efficiency of design and construction technology, affordability, climate-sensitive design, and appropriate landscape design strategies.
Through the studio, students will explore housing types such as row houses, twin bungalows, independent bungalows, low rise apartments.
The design exercise will explore the architectural questions of unit design, quality of common amenities, building material, architectural detailing, repetition vundefineds unique design, climate responses etc.
The project’s design will involve preparing a detailed design of residential units, site layouts with street network strategies and design of shared amenities.
