ShellSpire: A Yoga and Meditation Pavilion

ShellSpire is a pavilion for yoga, meditation, and relaxation in Kumbakonam, Tamil Nadu, catering to individuals and groups. The meditation space, accommodating individuals or groups of three to four, takes the form of a spiral, evoking curiosity and intrigue as one moves through it via a ramp. A tree through an oculus at its center creates a soothing and relaxed atmosphere with its diffused light. Resembling a shell, the central oculus serves as the focal point of the meditation area. The yoga spaces, partially covered and arranged in levels, provide areas for both practitioners and instructors. This open-air setup encourages engagement and a sense of welcome. Transitions between spaces are facilitated by playful level changes, creating relaxation areas amidst nature. Surrounded by trees, these areas allow for freedom of movement and exploration
