As the cities densify, it becomes important to make the areas of historical significance more amenable to public access and center for a lively public. The hostel tends to bring a community hub back to life, ready to retell stories of the past while also creating new ones with its experiences. Housing the web of unexpected encounters in the historic shell of the old building of Jamalpur Shala 04 and its campus, the hostel imitates the gallis of old city of Ahmedabad. It aims to create a reflection of the culture of Ahmedabad where users get to build new relations with each other and the locals.
