Conducting a pilot survey in the slums revealed a critical issue- while 87% of households in these slums have toilets, a staggering 88% lack sewer connections. This highlighted a major obstacle contributing to open defecation in the area. In response to this pressing challenge, my proposal to the Kheda municipality cantered on providing a cost-effective solution that considers the economic circumstances of these communities and also aligns with the objectives of the Swachh Bharat Mission, aiming to tackle open defecation in a sustainable manner.
