Ahmedabad is one of the largest cities of Gujarat, with its growing population here will be stress on water hence sanitation. With increase in sewage generation there will be huge demand of energy resources to operate the services. Currently 70% of the energy required to operate the sanitation service is the treatment process and is entirely catered by nonrenewable energy resources. Thus, this pilot project aims to establish Ahmedabad as a leader in sustainable wastewater treatment by minimizing energy consumption generating renewable energy and form a cost recovery model and tab into carbon credits.
