AFFORDABLE HOUSING BY PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SECTOR

This Housing Strategy studio portfolio aims to develop a comprehensive set of city-wide sub strategies addressing the challenges in affordable housing provision in Ahmedabad, focusing on both public and private sector delivery. Through detailed analysis, the existing national, state, and city-level policies and incentives were scrutinized, evaluating their efficacy in stimulating affordable housing production. Micro-market comparisons within the RAH zone and across the city illuminate supply and demand side challenges, including maintenance, affordability, and project viability. Recommendations emphasize an incentive-based approach to bolster private sector involvement, aiming to address current housing needs effectively.
