Kids Haven: Cultivating Community through Play

This project, which is located near the Shivranjini Flyover Road in Jodhpur Gam, Ahmedabad, introduces two nodes targeted at the local youth. Our design addresses the neighbourhood's lack of gathering places by emphasizing open spaces and educational institutions while encouraging playfulness and community interaction. The first node is a school doubling as a community hub, complemented by a spacious park for recreation and exploration. A pocket area nearby provides families with a comfortable haven. This all-encompassing strategy brings Jodhpur Gam back to life and promotes residents' well-being and sense of community.

One of the most engaging activities we did during our first tour of the ward was to make a collage of our initial thoughts and impressions of the space. This exercise explored the ward’s “imageability,” capturing the spirit of its character and identity, in addition to highlighting its physical features.
