The studio project centered around the difficult issue of designing and building a viable road alignment across a variety of terrains while taking natural and built-environment effects into account. The complete analysis includes a review of maps as well as an assessment of various IRC codes. Numerous surveys were undertaken, focused on the measurement and interpretation of field data. Multiple attempts were made to create the geometric design for both horizontal and vertical curves. In addition, the route's pavement design was completed. Alignments at a certain location were evaluated using parametric analysis for a complete comparison. The project goes into the difficulties and complexities of road alignment planning, including GIS technologies and many design factors, for a comprehensive approach.
