Fragments: Architecture & the Unfinished

Situated opposite Sarkhej Roza, the museum explores the paradox between permanence and evolution, history and innovation. Inverting the existing grid-dome structure, it introduces an organic circular plan beneath a rectilinear roof, symbolizing a shift from the known to the unknown. Inspired by Neil Levine’s notions of ambiguity and incompleteness, the design embraces fragmentation as a metaphor for history’s unfinished nature. Fragmented walls and a grounding solid form evoke tension and continuity, inviting interpretation and movement. The museum becomes a dynamic space where past and present coexist, offering a layered narrative that encourages exploration, reflection, and engagement with the unknown.
