Tactile Transitions - Bridging Orders Through Landscape

A landscape design proposal, rooted in the concept of Bridging Orders, transitions from the built to the natural through materials, planting, and spatial character. The design responds to the site’s contrasting conditions — from structured, sharp-edged courtyards to informal wilderness. A tactile gradient emerges, using hard, geometric materials near the buildings and soft, organic materials toward the natural zones. Planting is layered into three zones: designed planting near built edges, transitional planting in intermediate spaces, and preserved native vegetation in natural areas, enhancing both formal and immersive green spaces to reflect the ecological ethos of the CEE campus.
