Located at the front of the Planetarium, the Book Studio is partially embedded underground to preserve the monumentality of the existing structure. Inspired by the Planetarium’s cubical grid and pyramidal forms, the design centers on a strong axial alignment with its core. Rotating cubes gradually expand and morph into pyramidal shapes, generating angular walls that act as both light filters and seating elements. A secondary axis introduces subtle spatial complexity. The secure central zone houses book storage, while the outer areas provide spaces for reading, interaction, and contemplation—creating a harmonious blend of architecture, landscape, and learning.
