Rooted Reads

This project envisions a book studio near a strikingly large Banyan tree in Vadodara's KamatiBaug, inspired by the contrast between the park’s lively flow and the quiet refuge the tree provides. Drawing from path-space model explorations, the design emerges from two intersecting axes that guide movement and create spatial pause. The banyan tree’s natural stillness informs the studio’s atmosphere—a space for reading, reflection, and retreat. Structurally and conceptually, the studio mirrors the tree’s logic: branching yet grounded, open yet intimate, inviting the public into a moment of calm within the city’s rush.
