'ASCEND' - where architecture wears the hierarchy

Architecture is seen through the lens of social hierarchy, drawing from the visual and material language of the traditional Bhutia attire. Each space is crafted to embody a distinct social class (King, Royalty, Nobility, Commoner, and a Monk). Using variations in texture, material richness, scale, and ornamentation. Just as garments signify status, identity, and purpose, the spatial design conveys hierarchy through architectural expression. From the opulence of embellished surfaces to the serenity of minimal, raw finishes, the design narrates a cultural story, and movement through space echoes the experience of wearing layers of social identity.
