Thread of Light

This hotel concept reimagines the traditional mala (prayer bead) as a spatial and experiential design framework. Just as a mala guides a practitioner through a path of mindfulness and mantra, the hotel guides guests through a journey of reflection, growth, and renewal. The journey begins and ends at the reception (Guru Bead), representing guidance and unity. Main beads translate into key spaces—rooms, restaurants, spa, and garden—each designed around specific mala materials like Bodhi seed (enlightenment), sandalwood (purity), and jade (fortune). Spacer beads become transition spaces like lounges or courtyards, offering pause and reflection. Materials, textures, and spatial rhythms mirror the tactile, meditative experience of using a mala. The project embraces spiritual symbolism, natural materials, and experiential zoning to offer a unique hospitality experience rooted in wellness and inner journey. The hotel itself becomes a sacred loop, inviting guests to explore, connect, and return transformed.
