This design explores Renzo Piano’s “part to whole” theory, emphasizing his layered construction methodology. The concept abstracts Piano’s approach into a system of assembly and hierarchy, where individual elements contribute to a cohesive architectural expression. A structured yet fluid dialogue is created between parts and the whole through stratified layers like that of a watch—each with its own function and identity. The design aims to reveal the order and complexity inherent in construction, highlighting how multiple levels of hierarchy interlock to form a unified spatial and tectonic experience. This layered approach fosters clarity, volumes, and continuity in the built environment.
