MICHI - An exhibition space

The space ‘Michi’ symbolises a guide or path, a concept extracted from the life and work of Kuma himself, also reflected in the comic below. The space features 15 fountain pens from his private collection and is made with Plywood and Glass as the main materials. The narrative and concept reflect elements from the arrangement of the fountain pen - allowing the pen to create the impact on viewers through display and design. The project follows the design process of Kengo Kuma, through exploration of tangible and intangible elements and a combination of them to create an exhibition space.
