Mitra: a solution for the unmet need of meaningfulness

Three systemic, wicked problems were chosen and grappled at. The final project is an attempt at dissecting the prevalent loneliness epidemic, what it is, and why it is a messy systemic problem. A core finding that helped in understanding the problem: loneliness and hunger activate the same part of the brain. It is a signal indicating the unmet human need for meaningfulness. Mitra is a network of characters across public locations in Ahmedabad, with personalities based on the users in the area. They act as “chance encounters”, inviting anonymous engagement and guide people toward curated offline activities and engagement.
