The water supply system of Dholka is currently facing serious challenges due to excessive groundwater extraction, outdated infrastructure, high Non-Revenue Water (NRW), and water quality issues like fluoride and TDS contamination. Despite having 21 borewells and 4 ESRs, only 62% of households have piped water connections. This report analyses water infrastructure, quality, demand-supply gaps, and proposes two major solutions: (1) Rainwater Harvesting in 10 public buildings and (2) Water Auditing with GIS Mapping of the underground network. The report further recommends integrating planning, performance incentives, and decentralized water systems to build resilience and ensure equitable water access in Dholka.
