ReWaS (Reusable Water for Resilient Surat)

The pilot project in Surat's TP Scheme 63 (Niyol–Antroli–Vankaneda) aims to create a circular water economy by reusing 100% of treated wastewater. It integrates tertiary treatment plants, dual plumbing, and a treated water distribution network to reduce freshwater demand and groundwater stress. Designed for growing urban areas under SUDA, the pilot targets sustainability, resilience, and scalability. It addresses gaps in wastewater infrastructure, supports ODF++ and AMRUT 2.0 goals, and provides financial viability through phased planning, user charges, and industrial reuse. This model serves as a blueprint for water-secure, climate-resilient urban development across Surat.
