The City Infrastructure Planning studio, as part of the Integrated Urban Development studio, is designed to provide insights into city infrastructure and land use planning integration. It delves into the theoretical and pragmatic aspects of physical and social infrastructure and land use planning, emphasising approaches to mainstream climate resilience in Indian cities. To ensure an interdisciplinary learning experience, the studio will expose the students to various national and global good practices, interact with some of the infrastructure administrators and practitioners, and conduct site visits. The students will work in teams to collect and analyse qualitative and quantitative data to deconstruct the complex urban infrastructure issues for a selected case city. The students will further develop a citywide integrated perspective for strategic infrastructure investments. The final studio output will be to prepare a city infrastructure pipeline with immediate, mid-term and long-term strategies for climate-resilient infrastructure investments in the city. In this process, the students will be acquainted with the guiding frameworks and processes to conduct city infrastructure profiling and diagnostics and identify quality infrastructure investment proposals. The studio will also offer an opportunity to present recommendations before city leaders.
