This studio introduced the fundamentals of urban design through the study and transformation of public spaces. Emphasizing the analysis of urban elements such as built form, edge conditions, and street networks it enabled a deeper understanding of how cities function beyond their physical form. Through case studies and site-based interventions, students explored context-driven design approaches that respond to user behavior and spatial dynamics. The studio highlighted the potential of underutilized spaces, like flyovers, to become inclusive, multifunctional public realms. Key themes included everyday urbanism, walkability, accessibility, and placemaking, fostering a people-centric approach to creating vibrant, resilient urban environments.
