Delhi Development Plan 2041: A Clean & Resilient Capital

This project focuses on critically assessing and reimagining Delhi through the lens of the Master Plan for Delhi 2041 (MPD-2041). The aim was to understand how development plans guide urban transformation while identifying gaps between planning proposals and real-world implementation. Beginning with a review of the Ambala Development Plan, the project transitioned into a comprehensive analysis of Delhi’s existing land use, infrastructure, environment, and governance challenges. The proposal envisions Delhi as a clean, resilient, and inclusive city, prioritizing sustainable public transport, green-blue infrastructure, equitable housing, and climate adaptation. Through zoning strategies, transport restructuring, and targeted project proposals—particularly in housing, mobility, and environmental renewal—the project seeks to align urban planning with citizen needs and ecological sustainability. It emphasizes practical implementation backed by cost assessments and multi-agency resource mobilization strategies, ultimately reflecting the evolving role of planners in shaping a future-ready capital.
