Exploring Strategies for Enhancing Construction Project Communication and Co-ordination

"The construction industry, with its intricate network of stakeholders and multifaceted project demands, continues to endure challenges in communication and coordination. In project development, poor coordination and communication can cause delays and budget overruns, and thus overall project delivery. Miscommunications and a lack of coordination often disrupt project workflows, and decision-making and can occur during all the phases of the project. Even though digital tools like project management platforms and Building Information Modelling (BIM) promise to make it easier to exchange information, these technologies often fall short of addressing overall project-specific communication needs and lack of real-time visibility.

Beyond technology, a strategic framework that can adjust to the changing demands of each project phase and enable smooth, timely information flow among all stakeholders is needed to address these communication issues. By examining and assessing current coordination and communication practices, including existing digital platforms, this study addresses the pressing need to create a comprehensive framework. This research attempts to provide useful, implementable solutions that support better project outcomes, industry resilience, and overall stakeholder satisfaction by concentrating on lowering information silos, improving decision-making procedures, and increasing real-time visibility
