Remote Sensing and Machine Learning-Driven Detection of Floating Offshore Plastic Debris in few areas of Goa
"The increasing ocean pollution from human activities, such as improper waste disposal and
industrial runoff, has become a significant threat to the health of marine and freshwater
ecosystems. To tackle these critical challenges, this project seeks to harness advanced
technologies, including remote sensing and machine learning, for detecting floating offshore
plastic debris. By integrating these innovative tools with a WebGIS dashboard for real-time
monitoring and informed decision-making, the project aims to strengthen plastic pollution
management along Goa's coastline effectively."
