Evaluating Urban Transit Dynamics, Infrastructure Analysis & Management in Prayagraj: A Geospatial Perspective on Maha Kumbh Mela 2025

The Maha Kumbh Mela, held once every 144 years in Prayagraj, India, is one of the largest
and most significant religious gatherings in the world, drawing millions of devotees from
across the globe. With the upcoming Maha Kumbh Mela in 2025, effective urban transit
dynamics and infrastructure management will be crucial to ensuring smooth mobility for
attendees. This study aims to evaluate transit systems, including roads, railways, and transit
hubs, within and around the Maha Kumbh Mela complex. Using geospatial analysis, the
research will examine the adequacy of existing transportation infrastructure and explore the
potential challenges in management.
