PREDICTIVE MODELING OF COASTAL FLOODING IN KERALA

This study models prediction of compound coastal flooding in South Kerala by integrating sea-level rise and inland rainfall-runoff dynamics using HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS 2D. Simulations were conducted across three flood years (2018–2020) and multiple sea-level rise scenarios from ( 0m to +7m) to evaluate flood depth, extent, and hazard susceptibility. The analysis incorporates land use data to identify flood-prone zones and supports planning for climate-resilient infrastructure and coastal adaptation.
