This studio is structured in two modules, exploring how spatial qualities shape public environments. The first module examines streets and building types, leading to the redesign of a 600m stretch along Ahmedabad’s 132 ft Ring Road. The proposal reimagines the corridor as a pedestrian-oriented, transit-integrated everyday street, incorporating green buffers, shared zones, and active edges. The second module focuses on public space design at Vasna Vegetable Market and Bus Terminus. It addresses issues of congestion, encroachment, and underutilized land by proposing a transit-integrated hub with plazas, market spaces, community zones, and green linkages, promoting inclusivity and resilience. The studio emphasizes multifunctional streets, integration of transit and public life, activation of edges, and context-driven design. Urban design is approached as a tool to unlock the social and spatial potential of everyday spaces.
