A Connected, Inclusive & Sustainable Delhi

The Delhi Development Plan 2041 envisions a transformative future where the city becomes a model of sustainable urban living. At the heart of this vision is a reimagined road network that fills existing gaps by introducing missing links and establishing a fine grid of short block sizes. This approach promotes walkability, enhances last-mile connectivity, and enables efficient traffic distribution by diverting vehicular load across multiple routes. The plan is anchored in the motto: Imagine a Delhi where the air is clean, movement is effortless, and silence replaces noise. A city filled with green spaces, sustainable transport, and calm streets that bring peace instead of stress. A Delhi that breathes easy, moves freely, and smiles naturally—a city that flourishes and gives everyone the joy of living well. Complementing the road network is a comprehensive blue-green infrastructure strategy that integrates stormwater drains, green corridors, parks, and water bodies to act as a natural sponge. These systems mitigate flooding, recharge groundwater, and improve air quality. The network also supports biodiversity, reduces the urban heat island effect, and ensures a resilient response to climate change. This plan repositions Delhi not just as a city of infrastructure, but as a city of people, sustainability, and joy.
