Urban Management Foundation Studio

The studio is designed in a way which addresses the functional, integrative and skill building aspects necessary for imparting the students with an overall urban management exposure. Students will gain an exposure to services from the perspective of maintenance, staff management, budget, schedules, energy management, and effective relationships with contractors and vendors, laws and compliance. The studio will have different modules as inputs covering Urban Concepts and Vocabulary, Introduction to Urban Services, Management Principles, Urban Utilities, MIS, Survey Techniques. The studio exercise of Facilities Management module will develop the understanding of Facilities Management (FM) as a strategic tool for enhancing efficiency and functionality of the urban environment. It will introduce concepts related to basic management, utility management, facilities maintenance, and administration. Students will gain the understanding of various components of FM.
