The Architect in Practice: Intent | Ideas | Context | Detail | Expression
This studio builds upon the rigour and insights gained over the past three semesters, providing a platform for students to engage actively with real or hypothetical architectural scenarios.
Participants will explore diverse contexts and building types, leveraging their skills to identify relevant technical anchors and articulate a cohesive thought process.
In addition, the studio will address the dimension of contingencies inherent in professional practice. Students will learn to develop strategies for navigating uncertainties and constraints, fostering resilience. By considering factors such as budget limitations, site conditions, and regulatory challenges, participants will attempt to create viable and innovative solutions.
Through rigorous examination and critique, the studio will encourage the evolution of a personal design vocabulary that emphasizes imaginative solutions, technical appropriateness, operational efficiency, and the adaptability required to thrive in the complexities of architectural practice.
